Annie Laura (Slate) Norphlet

Annie Laura Norphlet, daughter of the late David and Ida Wiley Slate, was born in Lafayette County, Mississippi on June 19, 1937. Annie was a member of Church of Christ and she received her early education in the Lafayette County Schools. 

Annie was a retired line worker for Emerson Electric and was a foster grandparent at NMRC. She loved her foster kids and she loved her own grand kids. In her spare time she enjoyed working in her flower garden, and watching TV. Some of her favorite shows were The Lifetime Channel, The ID Channel, HCN Channel and Dr. Phil.

Annie went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital/NM. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Barbie Saunders, Ferlinda Mathis, Joe, David, Daniel, Eddie and Calvin Mathis. Her siblings: Rosco Slate, Ouima Murray and Faye Turner. He grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great-great grand child.  Annie was preceded in death by her parents: David and Ida Slate, and siblings: Marion Howery,  Albert, Esau, Eddie, and Joe Slate.
