Cloyes Harwell

Mrs. Cloyes Harwell, daughter of the late Willie Strickland and Helton Blackwell, was born in Tiplersville MS. She was married to William S. Harwell and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Harwell would often spend her time sitting with clients at the North Mississippi Regional Center in Oxford MS. She was always known to be in good spirits, loving, and caring. She always had a story to tell and a home full of love to anyone she met. She never met a stranger nor a child in need that she wasn't willing to help. Mrs Harwell enjoyed church, cooking, babysitting, fishing, attending gospel singing events, visiting the sick and shut in, and traveling to see her siblings in Indianapolis, IN. All whom she loved dearly.

Mrs. Harwell went home to be with the Lord On Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Tupelo Nursing Home, Mrs. Harwell went home to be with the Lord.

She is lovingly remembered by her  children and their spouses: Connie (Earlie Mae) Savage, Melvin Savage, Elem Harwell, Linda Payton, Willie Mae (Johnny) Goolsby, Liz Harwell, Dorothy (Leonard) Ivy, all of Oxford MS and Cedric (Contemprist) Nelson of Eads TN; a step daughter, Iva Washington of Oxford MS. And a host of grand, great and great-great grandchildren. 

Mrs. Harwell is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three children: Sara A. Nelson, Doris J. Savage and Donald Savage. She is also preceded in death by four step-children whom she loved dearly: Queen Winfrey, Sarah Payton, Chester Harwell, and Charles Wesley Harwell, and her siblings: Henry Blackwell, Frank Blackwell, Elon Blackwell, Kenneth Blackwell, Andrew Blackwell, Hazel Buggs-Allen, Drusilla Blackwell, Viella Braddock, and Cleo.
