Eddie W. Gordon

Mr. Eddie Wiley Gordon, son of Eddie Frank and Climmie Thompson Gordon, was born November 19, 1935, in Lafayette County MS. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Springfield MB Church where he remained a faithful member until death.  Being a faithful servant of Springfield, Bro. Gordon served as the oldest deacon, and also served as a trustee with the finance committee.

He was united in matrimony to Nicy Ann Malone and to this union seven children were born.

Bro. Gordon was a  dedicated member of the Arthur Herod Masonic Lodge #408 and in his spare time, when his health allowed, he enjoyed fishing, especially for crappie. He was employed with the University of Mississippi prior to his service as a truck driver for Elliott Lumber Company. 

Bro. Gordon went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday evening, November 6, 2019, while at Baptist Memorial Hospital/NM. He was surround by his loving family.  He is lovingly remembered by his children: Eddie B. Gordon (Nancy) and Dale Timothy Gordon (Mae Hwa) both of Abbevillie MS, Glen E. Gordon (Daphnie) of Oxford MS and Michael A. Gordon of Memphis TN, Dianna G. Owens and Betty Mae Sanders (William) both of Abbeville MS and Louella G. Egerson of Taylor MS; his siblings: Tommy Ray Gordon, Mildred Mae Malone (Burley), Florence Gordon and  Gwendolyn Ward, all of Abbeville MS. He also leaves 24 grandchildren, and 33 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his sisters-in-law: Nettie, Minnie Ree, Lorine (William), Lena Mae, Lola; and brother-in-law: Sulic and other relatives and friend.

Bro. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Climmie Gordon; his wife, Nicy Ann Gordon; and two brothers: L.V. and Luther Richard Gordon.
