Mrs. Hattie Mae Toles, daughter of the late Andrew Steward and Isabella Anderson, was born in Mississippi, December 7, 1914. She lived to be 105 years old, five score and five. Mrs. Toles is the widow of the late Hudie Toles. She is a member of South Hopewell MB Church and was a retired assembly line worker for Mott's Poultry Factory. She was also a member of the Heroines of Jericho, the oldest member of South Hopewell MB Church where she was a member of the Mother Board, former choir member, former Sunday School teacher, past church secretary, kitchen ministry, former usher and past chair person of the program committee. She also served 25 years as a Foster Grandparent where she received a gold medal award for her achievement in the Walk-a-Thon Relay.
Mother Toles loved fishing, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at her home with her family by her side. She is lovingly survived by her children: Susie Murphy, Juanita (Floyd) Ivy, both of Memphis TN, Shirley Robinson of Panama City FL, Isabella Johnson, Derich Austin, Wyome Powell, Dewey (Patricia) Toles all of Waterloo IO, Gloria (Richard) Brannon, Carilyn Flemons and Marilyn Toles all of Oxford MS and Herold Toles of Austin TX; her sister: Inez Wortham of Muskegon MI; 34 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 34 great-great grandchildren.
