John Delbridge Obituary

John "Jab" Edward Delbridge, son of the late Willlie and Odessa Delbridge, was born in Oxford, Mississippi on February 7, 1950. John loved to get into his car and just ride. He loved the blues.

By profession, John was a self employed landscaper and worked until his health failed and passed his business to his sons. John was a socialite and never met a stranger. He loved his family and community. His many hobbies and interest were gardening, fishing,  antique collecting, visiting and eating. He received his early education in the Oxford school district.

John made a transition from the mortal life to a life of immortality on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 while a patient at Baptist Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He took his last ride and he's now resting from his labor.

He is lovingly survived and remembered by his children: James (Marilyn) Delbridge and Kerry (Maria) Delbridge of Oxford MS and Cartena (Dwayne) Starks of Olive Branch MS; he leaves one brother: Aaron Mathis of St. Louis MO; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Odessa Delbridge, his brothers: Joe, James, Lindy and Willie Delbridge and his sisters: Lucinda Owens and Polly Gillom.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
