Mae Agnes (Young) Gillom

Mrs. Mae Agnes Young Gillom, the daughter of the late Mr. Beebe Young and Mrs. Vivian Benton Young, was born on January 3, 1931 in Abbeville, Mississippi.

She was converted at an early age and joined Smith Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, where she remained a faithful member throughout her life.  She served as a senior stewardesses, President of the Usher Board and a member of the Missionary Society. 

On December 24, 1948, she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Jimmie Gillom for 70 years.  To this union no children were born, but she served as a maternal figure to her nieces, nephews and members of her church and community.

She was also a member of the Philadelphia Chapter #287 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Oxford, Mississippi.

Mrs. Gillom departed this life on August 31, 2018 at the Oxford Health and Rehab Center in Oxford, Mississippi.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted husband, Mr. Jimmie Gillom, two loving sisters, Mrs. Robessie Farmer (Bradford) and Miss Loudella Young, all of Abbeville, MS, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
