Velma Jean Holmes

Ms. Velma Jean Holmes was born on July 14, 1952 to the late Henry and Juanita (Murray) Holmes in Water Valley, MS.

Ms. Velma attended Central High School. She was a people person and loved being able to help people out. Some of her hobbies include; babysitting, cleaning up, cooking, listening to music, getting her nails done and being around her grandchildren.

On July 18, 2019, Ms. Velma departed this life at Oxford Health and Rehab.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter: Dianna O’Hara of Abbeville, MS; two brothers: Freddie Holmes and Ike Holmes both of Oxford, MS; six sisters: Martha Morgan of Oxford, MS, Margie Jones of Abbeville, MS, Saddie Brown of Milwaukee, WI, Deloris Davis of California, Odessa Perkins and Gloria Brown of Greenville, MS; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Juanita (Murray) Holmes; five brothers, Charles Adams, Terry Davis, Henry Holmes, Elija Holmes and Tony Jackson and one sister, Charlie Mae Horton.
