Adolph Carr Obituary

Mr. Adolph Carr, was born January 16, 1944, to the late Reedie and Eulene Wright Carr in Batesville, Mississippi. Adolph accepted Christ at an early age and united with Eureka A.M.E. Zion Church. He received his early education at Patton Lane High School.

Adolph, affectionately known as "Hoppy," enjoyed outdoor life. He loved to play baseball. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and farm work and worked on the farm for John David Johnson. He was united in matrimony to Emma Thomas.

Hoppy loved to laugh and he never met a stranger. Everybody was his friend. He loved his great great grandnieces and nephews, and not only did he love the children in his family, he loved all children. On Wednesday, March 24, 2024, at Batesville Nursing Home, Hoppy closed his eyes and went peacefully went to the other side. When he opened his eyes on the other side, awaiting him with open were his parents: Reedie and Eulene Carr;  his sister: Robbie Carr Brassell: his brothers: George Wright, Robert Carr, and Walter Carr; his nephew: Stanley Wayne Carr; and other relatives. What a great family reunion. Welcome Home.

Adolph "Hoppy" Carr is lovingly remembered by those he leave behind: his sister: Jessie Carr of Batesville; his brothers: James Carr of Kansas and Charles (Lillie) Carr of Batesville MS; his step children: Patrick Thomas, Gary Ellis, Teresa Lewis, Tommie Thomas, James Wright, Byron Wright and LaGreggory Ellis; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
