Andrew Brassell Obituary

HIS LIFE, HIS LOVE, HIS LEGACY

Andrew Brassell, "Chuck" as he was affectionately known, and son of Fletcher Brassell Sr., and Allie May Taylor Brassell, was born October 11, 1946 in Lafayette County, Mississippi. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Harrisonville Missionary Baptist Church and remained a member there.

Chuck received his formal education in the Oxford School District and was a graduate of Central High School class of 1966. After high school, he enrolled in Foster's Cosmetology and Barber College in Ripley, MS. In, December, 1967, he united in holy matrimony to Forestine Blake and God blessed this union with six  loving  children. He later married Doris Clark of Tucson, Arizona and though they had no biological children together, this blended family blessed him to be a loving father to Doris's five loving daughters.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020, Chuck was taken peacefully home to be reunited with loved ones who had gone on before him: his father and mother; Fletcher, Sr., and Allie May Brassell; two infant children; a step daughter: Ovena Samuels; three brothers: Albert, Fletcher, Jr., and Howard Brassell; a sister: Bernice Stinson; a step brother: Andrew Peel; and three step sisters: Juanita Webb, Ernestine Hutchins and Betty Peel.

Having lived a life full of laughter and love for family and friends, Chuck also enjoyed refinishing old furniture, pencil drawing, and most of all cutting hair. He will be missed and remembered by his wife and best friend: Doris Brassell of Oxford MS; his chidren: Dana (Martha) Brassell of Oxford MS, Russell Draper of Sardis MS,  Beverly Blake and Vickie Brassell of Detroit MI, and Connie (Demetrious) Sanders of Bloomfield Township MI; four step daughters: Darcy (Gearld) Love of Oxford MS, Kerri (Derrick) Sanders and Elena Ross of Tucson AZ and Carol (Joe) Grandberry of Phoenix AZ; two sisters: Ora Campbell of Oxford MS and Allie Terrell of Alton IL;  two step sisters:  Dorothy (William) Love of Oxford MS and Clara Wilson of Alton IL;  three step brothers: Roy (Rose) Buford and Clarence Buford of Alton IL, and Jake (JB) Franklin of Oxford MS; Chuck also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
