Andrew Lee Jones, the eldest of two sons, was born March 20, 1948, to the late Lena Jones in Oxford, Mississippi.
He gave his life to Christ at an early age and united with Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Oxford, MS.
“Mickey,” as he was affectionately called, was a graduate of Central High School’s class of 1966. After graduation, he went on to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy, from which he retired. Shortly after he retired, Mickey gained employment as driver for Greyhound, and he later became a self-employed truck driver. His favorite hobbies were camping, fishing, and motorcycle riding.
Mickey was united in matrimony to Viola Frierson and to this union, two children were born. He later united in matrimony to Janie Lloyd and together they shared four children.
On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, Andrew passed away at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Janie Jones of Memphis, TN; children, Lena L. Pargo (Theodore) of Spring Valley, CA, Anthony R. Jones (Leslie) of Yuma, AZ, Bettina Dupree (William) of Jacksonville, FL, Andrew Jones, Jr. (Shaneka) of St. Augustine, FL, Michael Burnett of Oxford, MS; bonus children, Chenile Johnson (Stacy) and Harold Lloyd both of Memphis, TN; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Bobby G. Jones of Oxford, MS; special friend, Donaldo Morganfield of Jacksonville, FL; cousins other relatives, and friends.
Mickey was preceded in death by his mother, Lena Jones.
