Angie Chatman Obituary

Angie Ann Chatman, the eldest child of Robert and Nancy J. Chatman, was born December 18, 1972, in Oxford, MS.

Angie accepted Christ early in life and was baptized at Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended Sunday School and was a member of the custodial committee. She loved going to church and was always eager to lend a helping hand in whatever capacity she was needed.

Angie attended Oxford city schools and graduated high school in 1994. Immediately after high school, she began working at Lafayette Industries and remained a very dedicated employee until her health failed.

In her spare time, she loved reading books and writing, spending time with her family, being with friends, watching wrestling, shopping, and going out to eat. Angie believed in keeping a “clean” house and took pride in cleaning, at home and church. She was very possessive her belongings – just like her father.

On Thursday, January 27, 2022, Angie passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford, MS. Left to cherish her memories are her parents, Robert and Nancy Chatman of Taylor, MS; brother, Robert Chatman, Jr. of Oxford, MS; niece, Raven Chatman of Oxford, MS; nephews, Markel and Kylan Chatman both of Michigan and Ahmad Chatman of Oxford, MS; aunts, Elizabeth (Murray) Sisk, Edna Phillips, Faye Tallie all of Oxford, MS, Essie Horton of Water Valley, MS, Sandra Brassell of Houston, TX, Mary Flowers, Annie Tallie both of Oxford, MS, Bessie Flemons of Pontotoc, MS, Mary Alice (Robert Glen) Pegues, Mary Jane (Keith) Pegues both of Oxford, MS, and Robessie (William) Conner of Louisville, TX; uncles, Walter Tallie, Jr., Calvin (Mary) Tallie both of Oxford, MS and O.P.
