Arrow Sanders

Arrow Sanders was born July 5, 1949, in Oxford, MS to the late Allen and Christine Pegues Sanders. Arrow (known as Zero to some and Arron to others) accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church.

On December 23,1972 he was united in holy matrimony to Elizabeth (Vaughn) Sanders.

Arrow has always had a love for the outdoors and choose a job in logging where he would be outdoors all year round. He loved hunting and fishing and he also loved playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He was only employed at International Paper Company for a short time before his love for the outdoors led him to logging. He worked for Dunkin and then for Austin Logging companies for most of his work experience then he ended up working with and for his friend Edward Rocket with Ed Rocket Logging until his declining vision forced him to retire. Being retired was never boring to Arrow because he stayed on the go from the grocery store to the yard sales every Saturday morning. He always found something to do even if it involved him being in the passenger seat riding around with his best friend James (Bodie) Driver all day. Upon becoming ill and carrying out his wish, the family pulled together in providing adequate care at home with one of his primary caregivers being his son in law Chris (Money) who stepped in until other arrangements could be made available.

On Friday, February 2, 2024, Arrow passed away peacefully in his home with his son (Larry) and wife (Elizabeth) present. His loving memories will forever be cherished by his wife: Elizabeth Sanders of Oxford MS. He will definitely be missed by his sons: Aaron Morgan of Oxford MS, Arras (Sonya) Martin of Milwaukee Wisconsin, Larry Sanders and Anthony Sanders of Oxford MS; his daughters: Rhonda (Chris) Jeffries of Oxford MS, Erica Sanders and Alisha (Devin) Jefferson both of Marion Arkansas; grandchildren: Aariana Morgan of South Carolina, Aydan and Aldyn Morgan of Ocean Springs, Shanteria and Aston Martin of Milwaukee Wisconsin, Na’Riah Roland, Ethan and Ian Sanders all of Oxford MS, Anthony and Chelsie and Remy Sanders of Oxford Ms, Tre (Gabriana) Pegues of Oxford MS, Christopher (Terrillisha) Martin of Clarksdale MS, Jean Luke (Lakendria) Martin of Holly Springs MS, Arriana Pearson of Davenport IA, Antasia Pegues of Oxford MS, Rommie Woodard, Denarious Jefferson, Jezael Sanders and Keshun Savage all of Marion Arkansas; brothers AJ Pegues and Joel (“Pee Wee”) Sanders both of Oxford MS; great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arrow was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Larry Sanders (his twin), James Ross Sanders, Willie Jean Sanders, James Robert Sanders, and Homer Richard Sanders; and one sister, Bertha Lee Sanders.
