Bennie Jean Frierson was born on October 20, 1938 in Oxford, MS. She was the first of five children born to Bennie Frierson and Levora Polk Frierson.
She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Second Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board and the Senior Plus Ministry.
Bennie was a graduate of Oxford Training School and received her Associate Degree from Rust College in Holly Springs, MS. She also attended Jackson State College in Jackson, MS. Bennie retired from ICS Head Start after 38 years of service. She was also employed as a shoe department associate at Wal Mart. Bennie enjoyed traveling and being with her friends. She also enjoyed attending family reunions.
On Wednesday, June 9, 2021, Bennie went to her eternal home to be with the Lord. The memory of her will forever remain in the lives of her daughter, Lavorace Frierson, her son Kenyon (Avis), three grandchildren: Imani Corbitt, Ken’Nia Frierson, Moriah Price, and two sisters: Stella Frierson Buford and Vickie Frierson (John) Adams, one sister-in-law: Wilma Frierson, all from Oxford, MS, two nieces: Andrea (Terrance) Booker and Jacelyn Frierson of Atlanta, GA, two nephews: Jeremy Orange of Atlanta, GA and Benjamin Adams of Oxford MS, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bennie was preceded in death by her parents: Bennie and Levora Polk Frierson, and her brothers: Andrew (Tank) and George (Ricky).
