Bettye Callicott

Bettye Jean Callicott the oldest child born to the late Jack Callicott, Sr. and Ethel Burton Callicott July 10, 1941, in Panola County, Mississippi. Bettye Jean accepted Christ an an early age and joined Ebenezer M.B. Church in Como, Mississippi.

Her roots were firmly planted in Panola County, Mississippi where she spent her formative years on the family farm. She received her early education the North Panola County School District. After graduating from high school, Bettye Jean relocated to Ohio in the 1960's. Upon her return to Mississippi, Betty dedicated herself as the primary caregiver for both of her parents until each preceded her in death. Her selfless commitment to family defined her adulthood.

Bettye was an amazing person who loved everyone, and she will dearly be missed and lovingly remembered by her family members and friends who will cherish her memories. Her caregivers were Mary Davis and Kenny Echols.

On Monday, December 25, 2023, Bettye peacefully departed this earth with the comfort and surrounding of close family in Olive Branch, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents; Jack Callicott, Sr. and Ethel Burton Callicott as well as her siblings; Jack Callicott, Jr. and Georgia Mae Callicott.
