Beverly Annette Boyd, daughter of the late James the Boyd and Betty Pettis Boyd Bradford, was born October 11, 1964, in Oxford, Mississippi. This joyful, fun loving woman was affectionately known as "Bev or Annette,"
Annette accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and became a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang with the Inspirational Choir. She attended Oxford High School and was employed as a cook for First Baptist Church.
Annette was a proud mother. She often referred to her son, Zekiel as her husband because she said she would always be a Boyd, and he was the boss. Annette was in need of a liver, but she never gave up and never stopped smiling. In August of 2019, at Second Baptist Home Coming Programs, she was all smiles even though you could see that she was weak. Where ever she was, she was definitely the "life of the party."
Annette loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She loved the blues, talking on the phone, being with her family and just having a good time in general. She would never let you pass with giving you a friendly smile and joyful hello. And, updating you on her son.
Annette's physical body, her earthly tent, became weak and worn, and on Friday, May 8th, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital/NM, her earthly tabernacle (tent) was dissolved. But now she has a building eternal in the heaven, a building of God. A house not made with hands. Rest In Peace Beverly Annette Boyd. We know you are the life of the party.
She is lovingly remembered by her son: Zekiel (Allie) Boyd of Union City GA; her mother: Betty (Silas) Bradford of Abbeville MS; her sisters: Zandra (Corie, Sr.) Ales and Vonda Woods, both of Oxford MS Tina Boyd (Ricky) Gordon of Horn Lake MS and Pam (Tommy) Braziel of Houston TX; her brothers: Carl Pettis of Abbeville MS and Rod (Sallie) Wilson of Oxford MS; she also leaves five grandchildren: Takiah, Zekiel, Jr., Zentaveus, Savannah, and Brialyn; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
