Beverly Jean Nabors

Beverly Jean Nabors, daughter of the late Willie Fred Nabors and Claytie Evelyn Fisher Nabors, was born June 10, 1960 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Beverly accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Jeffrie Chapel Missionary Baptis Church in Abbeville, MS.  In later years, she became a member of East St. Peter MB Church in Abbeville, MS, where she remained a member until her death.

She attended Gordon Elementary School in Abbeville, MS; Lafayette Elementary/Junior High/High School in Oxford, MS; Aurora Central High School, Aurora Colorado. Beverly was employed with Emerson Electric Company in Oxford, Mississippi for 0ver 20 years as a line worker, until retiring in 2005. Afterwards, she was employed at Belk's Department Store in Oxford, Mississippi, where she worked in retail sales. She loved fashion, especially pink and denim. 

Beverly was a proud mother of three loving daughters, LaShonda, Shonta, and Ashley, and she was a woman who always wore a smile and never met a stranger. If you enjoyed a good conversation, then talk to Beverly, you would definitely get a good conversation. 

Over the years, Beverly endured many health challenges and fought a good physical fight. However, she knew that the battle was not hers, it was the Lord's. So, early Sunday morning, April 21, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS, she said "I'm standing still, and I'm going to let The Lord fight my battle."  At 12:02 a.m. she was pronounced the winner of the battle, and she received the victory.

Beverly is lovingly remembered by her amazing daughters: LaShonda Shamekia Nabors and  Shonta LaTeshia Nabors (Tyrone) Williams, both of Memphis TN; and Ashley Monique Nabors of Oxford, MS; her sisters: Shari (Michael) Thomas of Madison MS, Angela (James) Whitfield of Memphis, TN, Joyce Nabors Mathis, Fulton, MS; sister-in-law  Anita Nabors, special sister/brother cousins: Cheretha Mithcell Yarber, James Elwood Mitchell, Darrell Bernard Mitchell, Jan Kay Sandra Mitchell; one aunt Mary (Earnest) Shumpert, Fulton, MS; Her special friend: Robert Smith, Sr.; ten (10) grandchildren (one that she raised: Montrael Shunvonte Nabors); and two great grandchildren: and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Willie Fred Nabors and Claytie Evelyn Fisher Nabors; her grandparents: Jannie Mae Davis Fisher and Lacie Richmond “Bear” Fisher, Ary Lue German Heard and Richard Nabors; sister: Donna Sue Nabors Walton; brother: Fredrick LeShelton Nabors; very special aunts: Dorothy Jean Fisher Mitchell, Lucille Jernigan, Bernice Phillips, Verla Gordan, Elmyra German and Alice Clopton.
