Billy Brown Obituary

Billy Dean “Bill” Brown was born November 18, 1960, to the late Mr. Ed Brown and Ms. Sarrah Ruth Willingham, in Lafayette County.

Bill accepted Christ as his Lord and savior at an early age at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He received his education from the Lafayette County School District.

The Bible says, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and receives favor from the Lord.” On May 25, 1989, Bill united in holy matrimony to his good thing, Juanita Liggins. From that day to the last he and Juanita were inseparable. Bill was fortunate to inherit three children, Ken, Greg, and Angie, and oh how he loved them. Bill’s love for his family was extraordinary. His love overflowed to his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.

Bill moved his membership to Second Missionary Baptist Church to be under the same leadership as his wife. There, he enjoyed worshiping and was a faithful member until his health failed him.

Bill was a hard-working man and dedicated himself to always helping others. He was a construction worker by trade, however, there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do.  Bill was a true “Jack of All Trades”, he was a mechanic, cook, handy man, and he could fix any and everything. Most of all he was a father figure to every child he met.

On Wednesday, January 18th, 2023, Bill traded his earthly life for eternal life with the Lord. He will be truly missed.

Bill leaves to cherish in his memories his loving and devoted wife: Juanita of Oxford, MS, three children, Ken (Jennifer) Milliner of Bruce, MS, Greg (Melisa) Milliner of Southaven, MS, Angela (Jamone) Edwards of Batesville, MS; ten grandchildren, JeKendra Milliner, Kennedi Milliner, Ta’Kyla (Chas) Taylor, Gregory Milliner, Gracelyn Milliner, Taylor Evers, Jai-den Dower, Gregory Milliner Jr., Carmah Douglas, and Faith Edwards; three great grands; Carson Taylor, Kinsley Taylor, and Jaden Milliner; four sisters, Elaine Willingham of Oxford, MS, Lorrie Ann (Mike) Isom of Marshall TX, Ceola (Xtopher) Anikweze, and Diana Franklin all of Taylor, MS; four brothers: Kyser (LaShaunda) Turner, of Abbeville, MS, Joseph (Sheila) Turner of Water Valley, MS, Cecil Turner of Baton Rouge, LA and Curtis Turner of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Wanda Sue Houston, and four brothers: Larry Carothers, Harvey Brown, Calvin Carothers, and Ulice Doyle Tuner.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
