Billy J Mitchell

Billy Mitchell, son of the late Belma Mitchell and Mary Agnes Gordon Mitchell, was born January 23, 1944, in Lafayette county, MS. Billy attended Central High School in Oxford MS and later he united in matrimony to Shirley Gates Mitchell. 

Billy was known for his exceptional cooking skills. He owned Mitchell's Bar-b-Que that was once located on Jackson Avenue. You would always find him in a chef's apron or jacket.

In his past time he enjoyed shooting pool, fishing and hanging out with friends.

Billy passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at his home in Taylor MS. He will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Shirley of Taylor MS; his children, Shanderla Mitchell of Southaven MS and Joshua Mitchell of Horn Lake MS; and one grandchild. He also leaves his siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
