Bobby Leon Toles was the oldest of eight children born to the late Robert Kelly and LaVerne Toles Wesson on October 23, 1951. He was raised in a Christian home with his mother and grandparents. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and united with North Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member until his health failed.
He attended school in Taylor, Mississippi. Bobby learned very early the reward for hard work and determination. His maternal grandfather, Willie “Bill” Toles, taught him the trade of carpentry and how to hunt at an early age. This indeed was the beginning of his education. Bobby would carry this legacy and earned an excellent living from it. His love for cooking came from his grandmother, Para Lee Toles. When not working, his joy came from farming on his personal land, he also enjoyed fishing, dancing, and he was huge on family!
Bobby departed this life on July 30, 2021, at his residence in Taylor, MS with family by his side. He leaves to cherish in his memories his two daughters and one son, Michelle Young, Shawanie Young-Carr, and Kennerie Young, all of Oxford, Mississippi; eleven grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gregory (Bonita) Toles, Kelvin Wesson both of Memphis, Tennessee, and James Wesson, Jr. of Augusta, Arkansas; five sisters, Karen Wesson and Bernadette (JC) Rowsey both of Taylor, MS, Eunice Wesson of Memphis, TN, Carla Wesson of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Margaret Ward of Augusta, Arkansas; two aunts Ara Perry of Memphis, TN and Ruth Smith of Holly Springs, MS; special friend, Lillie Buck, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones and friends.
