Bruce E. Cannon, son of the late Frank C. Cannon and Juanita High Cannon, was born in Racine, Wisconsin, November 4, 1957, Bruce attended school in Racine and in 1979, he met, and married Virginia L. Clark. Their 33 years of marriage was blessed with six loving children. In 1984, Bruce and Virginia moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he gained employment with Kino Hospital where he retired and and moved back to Mississippi in 2001. Virginia preceded him in death in 2012.
In 2016, Bruce united in matrimony to Mary Ann Golden of El Paso, Texas, where he spent the remainder of his life. While there, Bruce joined Visitors A.M.E. Church, where he was a dedicated worker, serving as custodian, a steward, and head trustee for several years, he was a member of Men's Choir and the Combined Choir. Due to declining health, Bruce had to relinquish his custodial duties, always maintaining that no one could perform the custodial duties to his standards. Bruce was also a devoted member of the Sons of Allen. He had many friends in El Paso, Tucson, and Mississippi and he was well respected and highly regarded by all.
On Sunday, May 18, 2025, while in his home in El Paso, TX, Bruce made a peaceful transition with his wife, family and friends by his side. He leaves to lasting memories to be cherished by his wife: Mary Ann Cannon of El Paso, TX; his sons: Sterling (Elisa) Grandberry of Tucson, AZ, Bruce (Keri) Cannon and Willie Cannon both of Batesville, MS and his adopted son: Jonny White of Tucson, AZ; his daughters: NaShelia (Harold) Hervey, of Batesville, MS, Brandi (Casey) Bowie, Arvevia (Montrell) Dixon and adopted daughter, Vanity Morgan all of Oxford, MS and Angel Bennett of Tucson, AZ; daughter in law: Michele (Eddie) Lockridge of El Paso, TX; Sisters: Bettye (Rusha) Stuckey of Hermitage, TN, and Jennie Cannon of Smyrna, TN; Brothers: Frank (Mattie) Cannon of Atlanta, GA, Jerry Cannon and Phillip (Dorothy) Cannon of Tucson, AZ and Ivy (Deidra Cannon of Tacoma, WA; Grandchildren: Lawrence L. Nelson, Bruce F. Nelson, Virginia Nelson, Sterling Grandberry, Jr. Jason N. Cannon, Jaden B. William, Jahmeek William, Kaylee Cannon, Christian Cannon, Malik and Manki Cannon, and Josiah E. Cannon; a great grandchild: Khaleese White; God Children: Joshua Turner, Katelynn Love, Davion and Von Lockridge.
Bruce is also remembered by close friends: Jason and Stephanie Williams, Kevin J "KJ" Alexander II, Minister Tyrone McDuffie, Jr., Emery McCleary, Daniel Bentler, and Pastor Kevin J. Alexander, Sr.
