Charles Coleman

Charles Coleman, born in Oxford, Mississippi, on October 2, 1963, was one of six children born to the late Elton and Katherine Carothers Coleman. Charles accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Charles received his formal education in the Oxford School District  and was a graduate of Oxford High School's Class of 1983. Charles loved sports, and enjoyed watching football. He was a Miami Dolphins fan. You could often catch him listening and enjoying some good old blues, and playing with his nieces and nephews. 

Charles was employed with Armark of Ole Miss as a custodian. He was married to Karen Harris. After his health failed and his earthly tabernacle could no longer afford him a home, God offered him a brand-new home and he moved in on Sunday, February 2, 2025. 

Charles is lovingly remembered by his sister: Shulla Coleman of Oxford, Mississippi; his brothers: David (Karen) Coleman of Etta, Mississippi and Jimmie Coleman of Oxford, Mississippi; his wife: Karen Coleman of Davenport IA; He also leaves to cherish his memory: a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents: Elton and Katherine Coleman; his maternal grandparents: Henry and Octavia Carothers; his paternal grandparents: Anderson and Annie Mae Coleman; his sister: Patricia Pearson; his brother: Andrew Coleman; several aunts and uncles, and other relatives.
