Charles Edward Franklin

Charles Edward Franklin was born on March 28, 1931 to the late Lafayette and Ruby Stewart Franklin, Sr. in Pontotoc County, MS. He graduated from high school in Pontotoc, MS. He later established a life in Oxford.

Charles was an employee of the University of Mississippi, William Lewis, and a veteran of the United States Army.

Charles married Marvee Pegues and they were the parents of one daughter, Sheryl. He married Nancy Atwater on April 13, 2012.

He was a kind-hearted individual who loved reading the Bible.

Charles departed this life on September 5, 2021 at 11:25 p.m. at New Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Nancy Franklin of Oxford, MS; one daughter, Sheryl Franklin (Shawn Powell) of Oxford, MS; stepdaughter, Janice Miller of West Point, MS; step grandson, Edward Griffin of Florida; step granddaughter, Kayleigh Griffin; brother, James Arthur Franklin (Esther) of Wichita, KS; sister, Sarah Ann Brown of Tupelo, MS; 8 sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Marvee Franklin and brothers, William Preston, Melford, and Lafayette Franklin, Jr.
