Charlotte Brown Obituary

Charlotte Faye Brown, affectionately called "Charlie Faye," or "Faye," daughter of the late Veotis and Georgia Mae Nelson, was born October 3, 1951, in Oxford, Mississippi. Faye received her childhood education in the Oxford School District at Johnson and Peterson Elementary School and continued her adult living at the NMRC Adult Living Facility.

Faye accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Hope MB Church in Oxford, Mississippi, under the leadership of the late Pastor W. T. Houston. She was raised on Burney Branch and had a community of friends. She loved going to church, dressing up, and she especially loved family outings. Fay was the mother of one son, Milton, who preceded her in death in February, 2022. She was a caring mother and a loving mother.

In August of 2024, Faye's health declined and she was no longer able to do the things she enjoyed doing. God see all, and He knows all, so He looked down on her in the Baldwyn Nursing Facility, in her hospital bed, in Baldwyn, Mississippi and said, "Enough is enough. Come unto me and rest." She closed her eyes and went home to be with her son and with Jesus.

Charlotte Faye Brown will be missed and lovingly remember by those she leave behind: her sisters: Johnnie Ruth Nelson and Vera Mae Bailey, both of Oxford, Mississippi; her aunt: Edna Mae (Charlie) Murphy of Abbeville, Mississippi; a special niece: April Bailey-Hill; and special friends: Mary Lewis and De Alford.

Faye was preceded in death by her son: Milton James Brown; her parents: Veotis and Georgia Nelson; and a brother: Cedrick Nelson

Please keep the Nelson family lifted in prayer.
