Clifton Earl Jones, a humble son, brother, uncle and friend, was born on August 26, 1947, in Water Valley, Mississippi, to the late Bernice Rowsey.
Clifton confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and became a member of Union Hill CME Church. Later on he became a member of Mount Gillion M. B. Church where he was an active member until his health declined.
Throughout his life, Clifton dedicated himself to his work with the City of Water Valley Street Department, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment until his retirement. Clifton married the love of his life, Peresa White Jones, who preceded him in death.
Clifton peacefully departed this life on November 13, 2025, at his home in Water Valley, Mississippi, and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and cherish memories with his son, Clifton Tatum and his God daughter, Moquinada Gooch, both of Water Valley, Mississippi; one grandson, Kentravion Herron of Oxford, Mississippi; and one God Grandson, Adaylan Bobo of Water Valley, Mississippi; three sisters, Geneva (Junior) Neely and Dorothy Rowsey, both Water Valley, Mississippi; and Virgalree Pomerlee of Oxford, Mississippi; nine brothers, Elder Louis (Deborah) Rowsey, Kenny Rowsey, Walter Rowsey, Robert Rowsey, all of Water Valley, Mississippi, J.C. (Bernadette) Rowsey, Taylor, Mississippi; James (Jean) Hervey ofJoliet, Illinois and Johnny (Mary) Hervey of Samco, Arkansas; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Rowsey; one sister, Teresa Crawford; two brothers, Clarence Rowsey and Charles Hervey and two sisters in law, Erma Rowsey and Tammy Rowsey.
