Clorine Brown Ivy affectionally known as “Corine” was born March 27, 1945, to the late Henry Nathaniel and Lucille Joiner Brown in Oxford, MS. Corine accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at South Salem Missionary Baptist Church and remained strong in her faith with the Lord until she exited time and entered eternity. She later joined New Hope under the leadership of Reverend W.T. Houston.
Corine was a dedicated worker at the University of Mississippi. She worked 26.5 years before she retired. She enjoyed her family, cooking and cleaning. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and the word.
On early Thursday morning July 13, 2023, Corine answered the Master’s call to enter into His Kingdom. Corine transitioned while at her home holding the hands of her two daughters.
Corine was united in holy matrimony to the late Henry Alex Ivy. To this union three children were born, Louis Alex, Cathy Ann, and Juanita.
She leaves to cherish her memories are her two daughters Cathy (Tony) McMillan of Horn Lake, MS, and Juanita Ivy (David) Archer Oxford, MS. Two grandchildren S’myiah Nicole Blissett of Memphis, TN, and Ivan Anderson Archer of Oxford, MS. Two brothers, Herman and Floyd Ervin Brown of Oxford, MS. Five sisters, Florine Harwell, Zelma Jean Brown, Essie Savage, and Henrietta Westbrook all from Oxford, MS. Betty (Linwood) Griffin of Holly Springs, MS. Sister-in-Law Shirley Brown. A host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Corine was preceded in death by her parents Henry Nathaniel and Lucille Brown, a special friend Henry Alex Ivy, one sister Gertie Brown, one brother James Henry Brown and her one and only beloved son Louis.
