Conneill Cohran-Burnett was born April 8, 1969 in Oxford,MS to the late Sylvester “Butch” and Odessa Davidson Cohran.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Hope M.B. Church, where she was a faithful member serving as a choir member, mission society, and usher. She remained a member until her death.
Conneill received her education from Oxford City schools and graduated from Oxford High School with the class of 1988.
She worked in the food and cleaning industry until she left this earth and took pride in her business, Conniell’s Cleaning Services.
Conneill was married to Chester G. Burnett on September 9, 2006 and together they shared eight children. She was a loving and supportive wife. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and a true friend.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and reading her Bible. She was a child of God and loved serving and praising the Lord. Some of her favorite scriptures were I Timothy 3, I Timothy 5, James 2:26, and I Corinthians 15. Conneill also found joy in doing mission work at Graceland Care Center (now Oxford Health & Rehab), visiting the sick, sharing daily devotions on social media, and just doing things for others.
On Wednesday morning, May 24, 2023, Conneill Cohran-Burnett took her last breath with loving people surrounding her - another soldier gone to get a great reward. She fought the fight. She kept the faith and now, has gone home to God. And as she would say she now has everlasting “love, joy, peace of mind – today, tomorrow, always and forever.”
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Chester Burnett, Oxford, MS; three loving children: Anthony Chaintez Cohran, Memphis, TN; DeAndrea Levester Cohran, Dallas, TX and Shanikwa Ladessa Kentrell Cohran, Dallas, TX; 5 step-children, Sherrita (Tracey) Harris, Oxford, MS, Collin Burnett, Atlanta, GA, Crystal Burnett, Chasity Joiner both of Oxford, MS, and Krandus Toles, Taylor, MS; five grandchildren, Isaiah, Angelina, DeAnthony, Karlee, and Karmen; seven step-grandchildren, Tracy, Kylan, Aiden, Nashala, Shantaria, Randi, Kasey; three brothers, Reginald Cohran, Nashville, TN, Larry Davidson, Memphis, TN, Melvin Cohran, St. Louis, MO; four sisters, Lorna (Quentin) Cohran-Berry, Oxford, MS, Marilyn (Reginald) McClain, Oxford, MS, Pamela Cohran, Arlington, TX, Angela Cohran, Oxford, MS; ten sisters-in-law, Shirley, Doris, Carolyn, Lisa, Emma Sue, Peggy, Jennifer, Priscilla, Emma, and Kathy; two brothers-in-law, Lewis and Herman; special cousin, Roderick Davidson, special friends, Robin Webb and Mary Draper; special caregiver, Almelia Frierson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
