Damien C. Moore, native of California and University of Mississippi PhD student, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at his home in Oxford, MS.
Damien received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Performance and Master of Science degree in Health Studies from the University of Memphis. After graduating from the University of Memphis, he went on to pursue his doctoral degree in Health, Exercise Science, and Recreation Management at the University of Mississippi. While earning his degree, he served as Graduate Teaching Assistant.
His research interests included exercise ability to improve memory, cognitive effects of Nootropics on improving declining cognitive function, and the physiological effects of nutraceuticals and dietary supplements on improving biomarkers of health and performance.
In his spare time, Damien enjoyed working out and spending time with his family, friends, and fur babies.
He is survived by his mother Linda Moore of Berkley, CA, daughters, Kiah Moore and Rizah Moore both of Pittsburg, CA and Ashley Moore of Richmond, CA; siblings, Hudson Moore III of San Jose, CA, Tavio Sanders of Fairfield, CA, and Sinae Moore of Berkley, CA, special friend, Alexandra Travis, 2 fur babies, a host of other relatives, friends, and UM - HERSM family.
A memorial service will be held at Garland Annex (Garland, Hedleston, Mayes), room 102 - Friday, April 16, 2021 at 3:30 p.m.
