Desmond Lamont ("Munchie") Frierson

Desmond Lamont Frierson, affectionately known  as "Munchie" to his family, was born in Oxford , MS on July 2, 1981 to Georgia Frison and  Avant Vaughn, Jr. He departed this life on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Desmond joined Jordan Chapel C.M.E Church at an early age. He attended the Oxford City School System.  He was a hard worker. He loved spending time with his kids and his family, working on cars, going out to eat, fishing and shopping. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

To cherish his memories, his children, Deslyn Frierson, Emily Frierson and Jaylen Frierson, all of  Oxford, MS; his mother, Georgia Frison, Oxford, MS; his father, Avant Vaughn, Jr., Grenada, MS; his bonus dad, Edward Brown, Tupelo, MS;  four sisters, Trista Frierson, Oxford, MS; Kimberly (Davien) Johnson, Horn Lake, MS; Felicia Vaughn, Abbeville, MS; Ashley ( Michael) McCallister, Nebraska; two brothers, Demaire  Frierson, Oxford, MS and Jermarie (Lisa) Vaughn, Nebraska;  and a host of  nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his brother, McKenzie Darrell "Rell" Frierson.
