Earlene Foster was born October 1, 1947, in Oxford, MS. She was the third of four children born to the late Prines and Mary Jones Foster.
Earlene accepted Christ at an early age at Clear Creak MB Church in Oxford, MS, where she served as the Announcement Clerk and remained a member there until her sudden transitioning.
Earlene graduated from Central High School with the class of 1966. She furthered her education and graduated from Henderson Business College in Memphis, TN with an Executive Secretarial Associates Degree in 1968.
Earlene was married for three years and from this union, a son was born. Earlene was gainfully employed with the University of Mississippi’s Physical Plant in 2012, until retirement. with
prior employment with Emerson Electriche and SWM (Cutler’s).
After retirement, Earlene traveled the world and enjoyed many cruises. One of her favorite past-times was watching the game show, “The Price is Right” and soap opera, “The Young and the Restless." She was able to experience the game show live and she met some of her favorite characters from the soap opera, she also experienced, in-person, the inauguration of the first African American president of the United States of America, President Barack Obama, in Washington, DC, in 2008. These experiences she never forgot.
Earlene showed and exemplified love through her wonderful cooking skills with meals that would leave you wanting more. Dishes from caramel cakes to greens and neckbones. This lady knew what she was doing.
Earlene leaves a strong legacy of faith in God and love for her family.
To cherish her love and memories, she leaves her son: Edward Norphlet and daughter-in-love Angie Norphlet; her granddaughters: Chanel and Amari; her niece: Debra Jackson; her nephews: Arthur (Josie) Woods, Jr., L.T (Margaret) Walls; sister-in-law: Ella Mae Woodall; her great-nephew: Brandon Jackson,; her great-nieces: Shalaunda Walls and Shauna Walls (Terrance) Edwards; her best friend for many years: Mary J (Keith) Pegues; four great-great nieces, a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents: and, siblings: Edna M. (Arthur Lee, Sr.) Woods, Idellar Walls, and Willie James Foster.
