Emma Carouthers, one of nine children, was born April 4, 1947 to the late Fletcher and Ollie Mae Bibbs Brassel in Mound Bayou, MS.
Emma professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with Sandy Springs M.B. Church. Later she fellowshipped with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Emma received her education from Oxford Training School and Central High School. To pass time, she thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo, pitty pat, dominoes, and putting together jig saw puzzles.
On Thursday, April 22, 2021, Emma passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford, MS.
Left to cherish her memories are her children Lee Anthony Robertson of Oxford, MS, James Gregory Robertson of Phoenix, AZ, Linda Tolbert of Water Valley, MS, and Dorothy Robertson of Como, MS; brother, Jim Brassel (Aundrea) of Nashville, TN; sister, Martha Westbrook of Oxford, MS, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, Oxford Health & Rehab family, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, C.T. Brassel, R.B. Brassel, Georgia Mae Smith, Marie Joiner, Louise Toliver, and Cisero Brassel.
