Ethel Gerlean White Price
Ethel Gerlean White Price, was born December 26, 1950. She was the fourth of thirteen children born to Connell Matthew White, Sr. and Thelma Rea Avant White, n Panola County, MS. She was lovingly called “Nookie” by family.
Ethel accepted Christ at the age of 12 and was baptized at Harrisonville M.B. Church. She attended Patton Lane School District in Batesville, MS.
Ethel moved to Junction City, KS in 1993 and worked at Armour & Swift for years. In the early 2000s, she returned to Oxford, MS where she gained employment at Walmart until her health no longer allowed her to work.
She helped take care of her parents until they departed. Her hobbies included making jewelry, crocheting, watching old movies and studying the Word of God. As she got older, she attended homebound church services. Ethel had the kindest heart and she will truly be services.
On Friday, January 24, 2025, Ethel transitioned to be with the Lord. She is lovingly remembered and survived by her two children: April (Terrell Sr.) Blackmon of Olive Branch, MS and Eric Price of Batesville, MS; Her grandchildren: Terrell Jr., Ethan, Adrian and Tylecia Blackmon; Her sisters: Reathy Butler, Mary (James) Wilson, Levarne Jones, Emma White, Hiburnia Anderson, Margaret (Ronnie) Burnett all of Oxford, MS, and Velma White, Plano,TX. Her brothers: Connell Matthew White, Jr., of Oxford, MS and Calvin (Sandra) White of Sardis, MS. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws and friends.
Ethel is preceded in death by her parents: Connell Matthew White, Sr., and Thelma Rea Avant White; her brothers: John Willie White, James White, Sr. and Leon White.
