Eunice Annette Dunn, age 67, of Oxford, Mississippi, was born in Lafayette County on October 10, 1957. Eunice was the beloved daughter of Chester Dunn and Etheline Berry. Eunice lived a life rooted in family, faith, and service to others.
A graduate of Oxford High School, Class of 1976, Eunice spent much of her life serving her community through her work as a dedicated cook with Cash Saver, Phillips Grocery, and the Oxford School District. Eunice worked at North Mississippi Regional Center as a caregiver. Her warm meals and loving spirit nourished many beyond just the body—they fed the soul.
Eunice’s legacy is deeply woven into the lives of her children: her son: Danzell Byrd of Oxford, MS; and her daughters: Deborah Dunn of Oxford, MS, April Peeler of Waterford, MS, and Gracie Dunn of Pontotoc, MS. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren (6) and great-grandchildren (8), each of whom brought her endless pride and joy.
She also leaves behind: loving brothers and sisters: Avery (Bessie) Dunn of Oxford, MS, Bernard (Barbara) Dunn of Taylor, MS, Yvette (Johnnie) Logan and Karen (Milton) Jones both of Oxford, MS; and three stepsisters: Jennette Couch and Bessie Dixon, both of Oxford, MS and Mary Campbell, Davenport, IA; Her family circle was her heart, and she adored spending time with her grandkids and spoiling them whenever possible.
Eunice was a woman of faith, a member of Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Her love for gospel music was evident in her admiration for artists like Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC’s, as well as the Christian Crusaders. She cherished Sunday dinners, cherished Westerns, and enjoyed Chinese food. Eunice brought comfort, laughter, and a loving presence to everyone she met.
She will be remembered for her warm hugs, unshakable faith, and the selfless love she extended to her family and friends. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit will remain with us forever.
Her memory will live on in all who knew and loved her.
Please keep the Dunn family lifted in prayer.
