Evelyn Goliday Obituary

Georgia Evelyn Goliday entered this earth on March 15, 1927 to the union of the late Earlie Wortham and the late Ida Samella Armstrong Wortham.

She professed her faith and hope in Christ at an early age and joined Second Missionary Baptist Church. The first ministry she served on was the Usher Board and later on the Home Mission Board and Mother's Board. She was an active participant in the Senior Plus Ministry and Sunday School. She initiated the Baptism Ministry where she made all the baptismal robes and prepared each candidate as they professed their hope in Christ. She organized the Mother's Day program at the church for many years.

She met and married the love of her life, Lee Arthur Goliday, on December 6, 1947 and to this union they reared six children in a Christian home.

On June 20, 2021, the Lord called her home to be with him and the rest of her family in heaven.

She leaves those who will miss her the most, Lee A. (Eddye) Goliday, Sr. of Clarksdale, MS, Arthur W. (Nora) Goliday of Starkville, MS, Eva J. Price of Oxford, MS, Willie V. (Mary Ann) Goliday, Sr. of Madison, MS, Ella (James) M. Boyd of Byram, MS, Rita J. Goliday of Pearland, TX and one baby sister, Betty Jean McEwen of Oxford, MS. She also leaves her loving grandchildren: Tamekia, Lee Jr., Latonya, Timothy, Ashley, Willie II, Johnathan and Jerrell along with her grand-grandchildren, Alyson, Tiffany, TeQuan, Tyler, Cameron, Willie Edward and Cora. A host of nieces and nephews along with a dear friend and longtime neighbor, Mrs. Rosette Pegues, will cherish her memories as well. Family meant everything to her.

Her parents, 11 siblings, one daughter, one granddaugther and two sons-in-law preceded her in death.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
