Ferlinda Faye Mathis Adams (affectionately known as “mohder” to her children and grandchildren) was born in Oxford, MS on March 22, 1964 to Alfreemon Martin (Joyce) and the late Annie Laura Slate Norphlet.
Ferlinda was united in holy matrimony in 1996 to Larry Adams who preceded her in death.
Before her transition, she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.
Ferlinda was always a hard worker having been employed at several factories over the years, including Whirlpool and Georgia Pacific. She was most recently employed at Parker Hannifin where she expressed a joyful heart towards her fellow co-workers. She was a kind and accepting soul who welcomed all in her presence. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, court tv shows and mobile games such as candy crush and bejeweled. It was also hard for her to pass up a good sale.
Ferlinda passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital/NM.
To cherish her memory, Ferlinda leaves three children, two daughters: Ouima Renee (Curt) of St. Louis, MO and Kimberly Adams of Oxford, MS and one son: Larry Adams (Simone) of Oxford, MS. Eight brothers: Joe Willie Mathis JR, Daniel Mathis, David Mathis, Eddie Mathis, Calvin Mathis, Harvey Martin (Patricia), Alfreemon Martin JR, and Michael Martin SR. Four sisters: Barbie Saunders (Elbert), Latonya Gaines (Steven), Clarissa Martin and Tamara Martin. A special Aunt Genell Townsend (Jerry) and a special Uncle Rosco.
