Mr. Freddie Phillips, Jr., was born November 9, 1959, in Water Valley, Mississippi, to the late Hazel Mae and Freddie Phillips, Sr. He was educated in the Water Valley School District, and played basketball for Water Valley High School.
Freddie, Jr., confessed his faith in Christ at an early age at Green Goshen CME Church under the leadership of Rev. Alan Sims. He was united in holy matrimony to Bobbie Telford on August 8, 1984, and to this union a daughter, Dafanie, was born.
Freddie, Jr., was employed with Farrell Construction for over 24 years and retired in October of 2018. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. On July 3rd, 2020, his little angel, Joye Lynn-Nubia Ellis, was born and the two became inseparable.
On Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Baptist Hospital/Desoto, Freddie Phillips, Jr., went home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife: Bobbie Phillips; two daughters: Dafanie (Cecil) Ellis and Jessica Grisby; son: Sidney Williams; granddaughter: Joye Lynn-Nubia Ellis; five sisters: Mary (Franklin) Rockette, Georgia (Tommie) Barry, Margaret Bradford, Linda (Henry) Johnson, and Carla (Rodney) Baskin; one brother: Rev. Michael (Sherry) Phillips; six sisters-in-law: Helen Gooch, Shirley (Charles) Sims, Lula (Johnny) Caldwell and Patsy (Rod) McCloud, Vernita Jones Phillips and Lisa Stokes; three brothers-in-law: Wilton (Martha) Telford, George (Jane) Telford and John Eddie Telford; he also leaves two special uncles: Raymond (Ora) Phillips and James (Mary) Phillips and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends whom he shared special bonds.
Freddie Jr. was not only preceded in death by his parents Hazel and Freddie Phillips Sr., he was also preceded in death by two brothers: Russell Phillips and James Marshall Phillips, and his niece: Freddye Baskin.
