Freddie Bell Burnett Redmond, 83, of Oxford, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026. She was born July 18, 1942, in Oxford, Mississippi, to the late Dennis and Merlinda Burnett.
Freddie confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined East St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church. Later she united with Salem United Methodist Church and remained a member there until her death.
Freddie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found joy in caring for her family. She was married to her beloved husband, Jimmie Redmond, for 49 loving years, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and cherished memories.
She was well known for her incredible cooking and loved watching others enjoy the meals she prepared. Freddie also had a special gift for gardening and could bring almost any plant back to life. She also had a love for shoes and purses that always brought a smile to her face. Before retiring, Freddie worked many years at Emerson Electric.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband: Jimmie Redmond; children: Theressa (Alonzo) Hilliard, Eric Redmond of Minneapolis, MN , and Rory Redmond of Dallas, Tx; Grandchildren: Taneeah Hilliard of Oxford, MS, Jessica (Jesse) Cole of Conroe, Tx; Ashley (Alex Karaberis) Hilliard of Arlington, Tx, Christopher (LaSheba) Hilliard, Devondre Hince of Jacksonville, Ark, Xalin Redmond of Oxford, MS, Roland Mack, and Rylie Redmond of Dallas Tx; great-grandchildren: Tias, Leyla, Chloe, Morgan, Christian, Harrison, Alexander, Cadence, Taylor, Donovan, Rowan, Xuri, and Lennox; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was procced in death by her siblings: Joseph Burnett, Willie B. Burnett, Mary Liggins, Annie Buford, Ella Wadley, Lou Alice Young and Elizabeth Burnett. She was the last to be born and the last to leave us.
Her love, kindness, and warmth will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
