Fredrick Phillips Obituary

Fredrick Glenn Phillips, affectionately known as "Rabbit," was born on July 17, 1969, in Oxford, Mississippi, to the late John Phillips and Eva Mae Tallie Phillips. He was the sixth and youngest of his siblings. He passed away on April 21, 2026  at the age of 56, at his home in Memphis, Tennessee, after a tumultuous health journey.

Fredrick was a determined, fun-loving, and deeply devoted man, whose life was marked by purpose, strength, and devout love for his family. Known for his leadership and drive, he brought light and laughter into every space he entered.

Fredrick was born and raised in Oxford, where he developed the values that would guide him throughout his life.

Rooted in a close-knit community, he learned early on the importance of faith, family, and hard work, and at a young age, he gave his life to Christ at Second Miissionary Baptist Church in Oxford, MS. This was a decision that shaped his character and remained a steady foundation for how he lived and loved others.

Fredrick was a proud graduated of the Oxford High School Class of 1988. During his time there, he built lifelong friendships and created memories that he carried with him long after leaving his hometown. It was also in his hometown that he joined Oxford Masonic Lodge No. 106, where he was a proud former member. Oxford was more than just where Fred was from, it was where his story began and where the principles that defined his life were first planted and nurtured.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1989-1994, demonstrating honor, discipline, and commitment. Following his military service, he moved to Memphis, TN  where he built a strong career in warehouse management. He was recognized as a Best Leader by most teams that he led.  This is a clear reflection of his ability to inspire, guide, and uplift those around him. Fredrick didn’t just manage; he led with purpose and made a lasting impact on every team he was part of.

Beyond his work, Fredrick was a father, family man, and friend. He found joy in time with family/friends, singing, listening to music, and riding motorcycles. He was known for his fun spirit, strong determination, and goal-driven mindset. He had a way of pushing others to be better while still making them feel valued and loved.

Fredrick is survived by his wife, Pamela Young-Phillips; his three children: Fredrick Glenn Phillips Jr.,  Acacia Phillips, and Erika Phillips; his granddaughter: Emori Elise Phillips; his siblings: Angelo Phillips, Desmond Phillips, and Brenda Phillips- Pettis; His mother in law, Gladys Young, two sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will continue to carry his legacy forward.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Eva Mae Tallie Phillips; his father, John Phillips; his sister, Barbra Ann Houston, and his brother, Robert Phillips .

Fredrick's legacy is one of strength, leadership, faith, and love. The impact he made on his family, friends, and colleagues will never be forgotten. His life stands as a testament to what it means to live with purpose and lead with heart.
