George Albert Clayton

George Albert Clayton son of the late Sam and Jettie Oliver Clayton, was born in Lafayette County, Mississippi on February 16, 1949.

George accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member until he was called home.

George received his education in the Oxford School district and attended Oxford Training School. He gained employment as a tree surgeon with Northeast Electric Power Company. George enjoyed going to church, fishing, listening to music and serving people by transporting them when they needed a ride. He enjoyed riding.

On Saturday, November 21, 2020, while surrounded by loved ones at his home, George went peacefully home to be with the Lord.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters: Betty Clayton Bowen and Carrie Louise (Charles) Steven, both of Oxford MS; his brother: Henry James Clayton (Juliette), of Columbus OH; a special friend: Patricia Ramsey Pegues of Oxford MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

George is preceded in death by his parents: Sam and Jettie Clayton; siblings Bernice Morrow and Ella Clayton.
