George Jones, was born on February 7, 1941, in Taylor, Mississippi to the late Robert Earl Jones and Louis Armstrong. He was raised in Flint, Michigan in a loving home and accepted Christ at an early age.
George received his formal education at Northern High School in Flint, Michigan. After moving with his father at the age of 14, he met the love of his life and was united in holy matrimony to Willie Mae Jennings. To this union four children were born. George gained employment at J I Kase in Racine, Wisconsin, where he worked for many years before retiring. In 2008, after retirement, he and his wife moved to Oxford, Mississippi..
George loved working on cars including restoring old cars back to their original shape, style and. Some of his hobbies were coon hunting and cooking, which was similar to his mom’s and her specialty was pineapple and chocolate cake. His specialty was Bar-B-Q coon and it was a family and friend’s favorite. He used to share it with his coworkers and everyone used to clean their plates, syrup and all. George also enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, his dogs and last but not least rabbit hunting.
George was a hard worker, great at everything he did, and he instilled this trait into his children. On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 6:30 a.m., George was called home and peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory; Two sons: George Anthony Jones (Marsha) of Dallas, Texas and Christopher Earl Jones of Racine, Wisconsin; two daughters: Regina Michelle Jones of Oxford, Mississippi and Cora Ash of Charlotte, Carolina; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and a devoted companion: Willie Mae Jones of Oxford, Mississippi, one sister: Velva Jean Henry of Flint, Michigan.
George was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Earl Jones and Louis Armstrong.
