Glenda Ann Ford, the daughter of the late Willie and Cleopatra Joiner Chapman, was born April 21, 1954, in Panola County, Mississippi. Glenda received her education in the South Panola High School. She accepted Christ and joined Pilgrim Rest MB Church in Batesville, Mississippi under the leadership of Rev. Jessie Rudd. She continued her service at Pilgrim Rest under the leadership of Pastor Melvin Ellis and was a faithful member until the Covid pandemic and other health issues hindered her attendance.
Glenda was united in matrimony to Rev. Eddie Joe Ford and to this union, two sons were born: Darron (Vanessa) Ford and Michael (Shemekia) Ford and she welcomed a bonus son, Melvin Vaughn. Glenda was a hard worker who loved cooking, doing yard work and loved her family. She was a mother, grandmother, aunt and great aunt. Glenda was married to the late Rev. Eddie Joe Ford and to this union two sons were born, Darren and Michael and she welcomed with open arms her bonus son, Melvin Vaughn.
On Saturday, December 30, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family, Glenda went home to be with the Lord. She is lovingly remembered by her sons: Darren (Vanessa) Ford, Michael (Shemekia) Ford and bonus son: Melvin Vaughn; two sisters: Mary Florence Butler and Daphne Watson; two brothers: Arthur Lee Chapman and Earnest Lee Ales; she also leaves to cherish her loving memory: seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, four bonus grandchildren; nine bonus great grandchildren and one aunt: Lizzie Brassell; three brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; two special friends: Doris Ford, Shirley Young and Ola Clark (all whom she loved dearly) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Cleopatra Chapman; two sisters: Ida Bell King and Lena Mae Lee, and one brother: Joe Willie Chapman.
Please keep the Ford/Chapman family in your prayers.
