Mr. Glendon Burron Beene, Sr., son of Mrs. Florence Campbell (Beene) Lynch and the late Mr. Harron Lee Beene, was born on April 9, 1963, in Argo Summitt, IL.
Glen, as he was affectionately known, accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Argo, IL, and was a graduate of Argo Community High School where he played basketball.
After high school, Glen enlisted in the United States Army and served from June 30, 1988, to April 9, 1993. In 2003, Glen relocated from Illinois to Oxford, Mississippi where he then joined Clear Creek M.B. Church and gained employment with Whirlpool Corporation. In 2010, he enrolled at Northwest Community College pursuing a trade in welding.
Glen was united in matrimony to Carolyn Annette Coleman-Beene. He was a lover of the Chicago Bears and enjoyed watching baseball. Even though Glen was VERY afraid of a small little fish that he caught on his first fishing outing with his mother, he truly gained a love for fishing as an adult.
On Sunday, March 10, 2024, Glen made his transition to a new home, and he leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Carolyn Beene of Crenshaw, MS; his mother: Florence (Wall Doxey) Lynch of Oxford, MS; two sons: Glendon Beene, Jr. of Atlanta, GA and Andrew Beene of Douglasville, GA; a daughter: DeGenira Beene of Germany and grandson: Braxton Beene; and two sisters: Renetta M. Griffin of Las Vegas, NV and Lana L. Kennedy of Grandview, IL; Glen is also remembered by many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Herron Lee Been and a niece, Zariah.
Please keep the Beene family in your prayers
