Glennie Pearson Obituary

Mrs. Glennie Alice Carothers Pearson was born on March 8, 1933 in Water Valley, Mississippi to the late Mr. and and Mrs. Frank Carothers (Alberta) . She transitioned from this life on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Oxford Baptist Memorial Hospital.

Sister Glennie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Providence M. B. Church with her family. After marrying and moving to Taylor, MS with her husband Mr. Hudie, she joined North Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church In Taylor, Mississippi. She was a faithful member serving in the usher ministry and attended the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education with her husband and church family for several years.

Sister Glennie Carothers was united in holy matrimony to Bro. Hudie Pearson in 1953 and to this union ten children were born, nine sons and one daughter. She was a warm, loving and caring mother of her family and the community.

Mrs. Glennie Pearson completed high school in Water Valley, MS. In 1982 she earned An Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Rust College in Holly Springs, MS. She retired from ICS Headstart as a teacher after over thirty years of service.

Mother Glennie Alice Carothers Pearson leaves to recall and cherish her memory nine children: Dr. Roger Pearson (Dr. Emma) of Coffeeville, MS, Mr. Donnie Pearson ( Michelle) of Taylor, MS, Mr. Bartholomew Pearson (Patsy) of Davenport, Iowa, Minister Linda Joiner (David) of Oxford, MS, Pastor Terry Pearson (Debbie) of Saginaw, MI, Minister Hudie Ray Pearson (Laura) of Tiffin, Iowa, Mr. Brain Pearson (Darlene) of Glendale, AZ, Mr. Tony Pearson (Tangela) of Horn Lake, MS, Minister Marlin Pearson (Minister Glenda) of Millington, TN, 38 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends,and church family.

Sister Glennie Carothers Pearson was preceded in death by her husband, son (Bruce Allen Pearson),parents, all six siblings (Frank Carothers, Hilder Morgan, Fanny Bowens, Stanley Carothers, Jim Carothers and Kenneth Carothers), oldest grandson ( Eric M. Pearson), and a great-grandson (Eric R. Pearson).
