Henry Alex Ivy, affectionately known as "Mook," was born to the late Mr. Jessie Ivy and Mary Fondren-Ivy on January 15, 1940, in Taylor, MS. Henry accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He was a member of North Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church and later joined Second Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his untimely death.
Henry loved his family and friends, he loved to drive his car and listen to music, and he loved to have fun and joke around. He never met a stranger; he was a very compassionate man and had a gentle soul. Henry was a hardworking man and worked for Graceland Healthcare for 45 years.
On Friday, November 20, 2020, Henry departed this life at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi and entered eternity.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his first wife and best friend, Clorine Ivy of Oxford, MS; three daughters, Cathy Ann McMillan (Tony) of Horn Lake, MS, Juanita Ivy Archer (David), and Carol Holmes (Freddie) both of Oxford, MS; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four brothers, Robert Ivy and Charles Ivy, both of Oxford, MS, John Ivy (Sandra) and Moss Ivy both of Indianapolis, IN; five sisters, Earlie Mae Savage (Connie) and Olean Gillard (Frank) both of Oxford, MS, Frenchie Sisk of Pontotoc, MS, Lula Jones of Albany, NY, and Bernice Townsend (Doug), Milwaukee, WI; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Mary Fondren-Ivy, two sons, Lewis Alex Ivy and Carl Higginbottom, three brothers, Jessie Ivy, Jr, Russell Edward "Sam" Ivy, and Frank Fuller.
