Ira Green Obituary

Ira Fitzgerald Green was born on September 9, 1965, in Oxford, Mississippi, was number nine of ten children born to the late Ira Green, Jr. and Lovie Bell Green. Ira confessed hope in Christ at an early age and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and he became a member of Greater St. John MB Church in Oxford, Mississippi.

Ira received his formal education in the Lafayette County School District and graduated from Lafayette High School with the class of 1985. He began his work journey during high school with Bonanza Steak House, where he eventually became assistant Manager. Later Ira started his own business, "Green Cleaning Services," as well as training as a CNA with Graceland Nursing Home (now known as Oxford Health and Rehabilitation), and, he was also a security guard with Cobra Security.

Ira was united in holy matrimony to Francine Ruffin and this union was blessed with a beautiful daughter whom he loved dearly. Ira was a true soldier. A warrior. He battled end stage renal failure and endured kidney dialysis for 30 years, but on Friday, January 3, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, the Good Master said, "enough is enough", and He called him home.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters: Jaselyn Williams of Los Angeles, California and Tyler (De"Jhon) Bryant; two grandsons; Harlem and Seven Bryant and well as a granddaughter who is due to make her arrival in April of 2025; all of Oxford, Mississippi. He leaves two brothers: James (Anna) Green of Memphis, Tennessee and Albert (Celeste) Green of Oxford, Mississippi; three sisters: Loretta (George) Archie and Vernesia (Ellis) Orange both of Oxford, Mississippi and Sally (Scottie) Miller of Pontotoc, Mississippi; a sister-in-law: Lynn (Redic) Smith of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ira was preceded in death by his father: Ira Green, Jr,; his mother: Lovie Bell Malone Green; sisters: Elizabeth and Georgia Green; and brothers: Isaac and Lee Edward Green.

Please keep the Green family lifted in prayer.
