Jacynthia Johnson Obituary

Jacynthia Johnson, daughter of the late Lula Johnson, was born in Lafayette County, Mississippi on April 11, 1939. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the West Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Oxford and remained a faithful member there until she was called home from labor to reward.

Jacynthia received her education at Oxford Training School and through Home Economics and her mother, she became a fantastic cook, having served as a chef with the Sizzler Steak House in Oxford and cooked at 3-Way Grocery, for many years. Jacynthia was a warm hearted loving woman. She relaxed her mind by doing crafts, such as: sewing, knitting and other needlework. All of her crafting skills were self-taught, because she wanted to ensure her family a better quality of life. Jacynthia was also an avid collector of Louis L'amour western novels. And yes, she did read them. But her greatest joy was loving on her grand  and great grandchildren.

On Saturday evening, July 18, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital/NM, Jacynthia went home to be with the Lord. She was surrounded with the love of her family. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her daughters: Gwen Gipson, Baretta (Fred) Mosley and Debra Johnson, all of Oxford MS,  her son: Willie "aka" Ronnie (Diane) Johnson of Oxford MS, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren; her sisters: Lula Patton, Mary Alice Mason. Juanita Arther and Loretta Avery all of Flint MI, Margrette Vaughn, Dora R. Pollock, and Sarah Jones all of Oxford MS,  her brothers: Willie (Betty) Robinson of Phoenix AZ, Charles Robinson of Flint MI and Lee (Marilyn) Robinson of Oxford MS; God-son, Sidney (Tonia) Jennings of Bowie, Maryland and God-daughter, Jessie (Calvin) Malone of Abbeville MS; She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Jacynthia was preceded in death by a sister: Catherine Robinson and a brother: Wade Luster Booker.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
