James Morris Penamon, son of the late Morris and Doreathea Penamon, was born June 3, 1953 in Taylor, MS.
James received his education from Johnson & Peterson Elementary School, Wems Elementary School and Lafayette High School. He was an avid outdoorsman and employed as a tree surgeon. During his off time, James hauled pulp and firewood.
He passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Coffeeville, MS.
Left to cherish his memories are two daughters, Rosalyn Penamon of Oxford, MS and Phoebe Penamon of Delaware; three grandchildren, William Joshua Martin, Paris Aliviah Martin, and Alexis Gordon; two sisters, Min. Anna Penamon Green (James) and Lavonzell Penamon Thompson (Edward) both of Memphis, TN; two nieces, Melissa McJunkins and Santana Smith; one nephew: Xazier Smith; one uncle, Isaiah (Zip) Richmond; a beloved friend, Ms. Lillie Roberts of Coffeeville MS; and a host of cousins, family members, friends and associates.
James is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Corine McJunkins.
