James "Bo" Pegues Obituary

James Larry (Bo Didley) Pegues, son of the late J D Pegues and Willie Maude (Sallie) Pegues Jobe, was born January 16, 1956. He departed this life on March 24, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

James accepted Christ at an early age and joined East St. Peter MB Church. Later in life, he united with the Resurrection House of Prayer Church where he remained a faithful member until his health failed.

James received his education in the Oxford School District. In 1974, he married Shirley Redmond. The couple moved to Michigan in the late 70’s and lived in Flint, MI until they returned to Mississippi in 1984.

During his professional career, James worked in construction, in the food service industry and later became a tree surgeon. Tree surgery was his passion, and he continued working, training and supervising others until he was no longer able.

Bo, as he was affectionately known, enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching sports and spending time with family. He also loved music, singing and playing his tambourine in church.
