Janice Wortham Obituary

Janice Elizabeth Boles-Wortham was born to Lee Russell and Jurlean Boles, Sr. on January 25, 1964 in Lafayette county, MS. She was the second of seven siblings and a graduate of Lafayette High School class of 1982. She attended Northwest Community College earning  a certificate in Certified Nursing. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of New Hope M.B. Church of Oxford, MS.

Jan, as she was affectionately known, knew at an early age she wanted to spend her life in service to others and the Lord Jesus Christ. For the thirty plus years, she tirelessly took care of others in the community while employed at Baptist Home Health. She was a dedicated member of her home church serving as a Junior Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, the Young Adult Choir President, the Layman Movement President and Chairman of the Kitchen Committee. Until she went to meet her Father in Heaven, Jan served on the Trustee Board and her favorite gospel song was "Order My Steps."

When Jan was not serving others, she spent her time surrounded by the love and laughter of her husband, and grandchildren. Jan married Tony Wortham on August 25, 1994 and for 25 years, they shared an amazing marriage and love story. Jan departed this earthly life July 17, 2020.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband: Tony B. Wortham of Oxford, MS, three sons: Ketrick Boles (Amy) and Kendrick Boles both of Oxford MS, and David Coleman of Memphis TN; her parents: Lee Russell and Jurlean Boles of Taylor MS; a god-son: Zaveon Lipsey of Oxford MS; siblings: Michael Boles of Taylor MS, Kevin Boles (Kim) of Satellite Beach FL, Jimmy Williams (Tessia) of Memphis TN, Russell Boles,  (Agena) and Regeania Boles both of Oxford MS; eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, who she treated as her own and six sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, her New Hope Church family, cousins and good friend: Milton James.

She was preceded in death by her brother: Christopher Boles, Sr. (Anissa) and her daughter: LaRhonda Boles.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
