Jeffrey Lamont Wells, son of Kattie Wells and the late Leo Fred Wells, Sr., was born February 4, 1972, in Oxford, Mississippi. Jeffrey professed his faith in Christ at an early age at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Jeffrey received his formal education in the Lafayette County School District and was a 1990 graduate of Lafayette High School where he played football. After graduation, Jeffrey went on to further his education by enrolling at Northwest Community College. He loved tinkering around with different things and was a jack of all trades, having been a former employee of North Mississippi Regional Center (NMRC) as a direct care worker. However, his career was driving big trucks. He drove for many companies. Jeffrey also enjoyed outdoors and spending time with his children.
On Monday, October 14, 2024, Jeffrey was called home to be with the Lord. He was 52 years old. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter: Angelica Wells of Oxford MS; his brothers: Thomas Wells of Taylor MS, Leo Wells, Jr. (Wanda) of Tupelo MS, and Angelo Williams (Terri) of Memphis TN; his sisters: Andrea Wells of Taylor MS, Katherine Wells of Moss Point MS, and Mary (Charles) Cope of Chambersburg PA; Jeffrey also leaves behind five nieces, seven nephews, and special children: Montez Goliday of Oxford MS, Kayshia Wells of Guntown MS, and Jaleijha Ivy of Tupelo MS; best friend/cousin: Vanita Morse of Flint MI, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
