Jerome Bishop was born on April 22nd 1975 to Mr. Jimmy and Mary Bishop of Taylor, MS.
Jerome professed a hope in Christ at an early age at New Jerusalem Pentecostal Healing Temple in Taylor, MS under the leadership of the late Evangelist Ora Lee Egerson. He accepted his calling into ministry in 2007 and was later ordained. He remained a member of New Jerusalem until his untimely transition from earth.
Jerome received his education from Lafayette County Schools and was a graduate of Lafayette High School’s class of 1993. Afterwards he attended Northwest MS Community College. He was employed for several years with Captain D’s as a shift-manager.
Minister Jerome was a loving brother, son, friend, husband, and father. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking and grilling, being with family, and the youth of New Jerusalem. He also enjoyed attending and watching football games, particularly Ole Miss on college game days and Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on NFL Sundays.
He was full of life and Godly wisdom. On the afternoon of Sunday, October 9th, 2022, Minister Jerome answered his Master’s final call – trading his earthly life for eternal life with his Savior.
He will be dearly missed and cherished forever by his wife, Tiffany Kirkwood-Bishop (Oxford, MS); sons, Ladarian Bishop, Jonathan Cox-Bishop (both of Taylor, MS), Kaden Armond Bishop (Oxford, MS), daughter, Ariana Nicole Bishop (Oxford, MS), parents, Jimmy and Mary Bishop of Taylor, MS; sister, Yulanda Bishop (Taylor, MS), and two nieces whom he adored dearly, Aaliyah Nicole Bishop and Jo’Hannah Rhea Bishop (both of Taylor, MS), a host of aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Minster Luther and Evangelist Ora L. Egerson, Wilton Bishop Jr. and Minnie Corinthia Bishop; three uncles, Terry Bishop, Elder Artha L. Egerson, and Reverend Eugene Egerson and one auntie, Lou Jessie Cox.
